Just assembled it. Easy. Lovely smoothed pine. The working surface is made of 9x4cm beams joined together. The two shelves are equally massive, as solid as the top, and also constructed of 9x4cm beams - so there has been no compromise of material there, and they give much additional stability. Even the side and fore-and-aft bracers are lengths of 6X4cm solid pine. The whole bench is absolutely stable and solid. The worktop in precisely 90 cm high.
The quality of the pine is very good indeed, with a pleasing look and feel. The design is clever and deceptively simple. All components fit together flush, absolutely nothing fiddly, and my bench is a solid as a rock.
It looks great in my garage. I love the simplicity and practicality of wood especially chunky pine. Glad I bought it.
