Store is great, but the assembly was not the best. Would have liked doors to be even and fittings to line up…
I had 2 items assembled the other I have to lift the door to shut it…
An excellent product, but with improvements needed to the instructions
First and foremost, this is a brilliant product and I am extremely happy with my bench. The range of options available meant I could order something 95% perfect for my needs, and I was able to modify it myself for the extra 5% (I added side rails and a cut-out). I am totally happy with the product itself and I think the price was very reasonable.
I oiled my bench and also stained the work surface, I found the that material required additional sanding to get a good finish. The ply material also has a good side and a less good side. There were some holds in the ply edges, which needed filling.
There were two issues that I do have to mention:
1) The delivery time was totally inflexible, and there was very little notice that I had to receive an out of hours delivery to my workshop, which is in a building that does not have out of hours access
2) The instructions had no itemised fixings list, so it took me a while to notice that some of them were missing. The customer service was excellent and new ones were posted quickly. Then, right at the end I discovered that I was short some of the screws, which I replaced myself. The assembly instructions were sparce, and not tailored to my specific option, but having made a lot of furniture, it wasn't hard to work out. The pieces were numbered, which would have been helpful if the numbers had corresponded to some part of the instructions, but they didn't.
