OpiFEX plywood top craftsman/jewellers workbench

The heavy-duty workbench accommodates:

- Three graduated drawers for storage
- A high railing surrounding the solid worktop, preventing anything from falling off
- A lined centre tray, designed to catch and easily remove scraps and filings
- An additional work tray for extra storage
- A curved, cut out area
- Wooden arm supports, enabling you to comfortably work up close to your jewellery pieces
- A centre mounted bench pin slot
- An included wooden bench peg
- Two insert holes to support mandrels (4.5cm dimensions and 2.5cm dimension)
- A tool holder to the side (as an option)

Three available surface options to choose from: 

 18mm MDF: fibreboard is a man-made wood that is free from natural defects. It has a smooth sanded surface and precisions finish. MDF is very versatile and suitable for a wide number of internal uses. Takes paint well. Takes wood glue well. High screw pull-out strength in the face gain of the material. Stable dimensions (less expansion and contraction than natural wood).

18mm UniMDF: (water-resistant): fibreboard is made of pine wood, which is responsible for its typical light, stable wood colour. During the manufacturing process, the wood fibres are mixed with special glue and subsequently compressed under high pressure and at a high temperature to produce a homogeneous MDF board. Doing so prevents the UniMDF sheets from swelling after contact with water as quickly as a regular MDF board, which makes this board better suited for wet areas. 

18mm Plywood: this is a superior quality plywood made up of multiple veneers to increase its structural stability while offering a high-quality face finish. It is made up of lots of layers of thin veneers glued together at right angles. It has excellent physical and mechanical properties and a light-coloured appearance combined with a smooth surface.

Workbench Care Guide – MDF, UniMDF & Plywood Tops

To ensure long-lasting durability and stability, proper care and maintenance of your wooden workbench are essential. Our workbenches are crafted from high-quality kiln-dried timber, reducing moisture content to minimize warping, cracking, or splitting over time.

✔️ Protect the Wooden Frame: Apply a suitable wood finish or sealant annually to protect against moisture and wear, preserving the strength and appearance of the timber.

✔️ Maintain the Worktop Surface: Whether your workbench features an MDF, UniMDF, or Plywood top, applying a protective sealant (such as polyurethane, epoxy, or a waterproof finish) will help guard against moisture, spills, and scratches.

✔️ Regular Cleaning: Wipe down surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent to remove dust, debris, and stains. Avoid excessive water exposure to prevent swelling or damage.

✔️ Prevent Surface Damage: Use cutting mats, coasters, or protective pads when working with sharp tools, heavy objects, or liquids to maintain a smooth and durable worktop.
